s. XIΙ and XIII s. XIΙΙ (Psalms Commentary); s. XIΙ (flyleaf pp. 581–582) | Parchment, 564, 255 × 195 mm, 1–2 col. 2 cols. Psalms Commentary; 1 col. flyleaf pp. 581–582, 30–37 lines per page. Minuscule (“Scholarly hand”). Provenance: Possibly copied in the Vatopedi monastery.
Commentary on the Psalms by Theodoret of Cyrrhus (CPG 6202), supplemented with Euthymius Zigabenus. | Theodoret's Commentary on Psalms (CPG 6202) is written in two columns, a format rare in manuscripts of this text (otherwise only found in Ra 9028), with the biblical text in red and the commentary in dark brown ink. The text is annotated with labels such as κείμενον and ἑρμηνεία for biblical text and commentary (only on the first pages), ἱστορία for the commentary on a Psalm title, and frequently ὅρα and σημείωσαι for various sections of the commentary. The same style of labelling is also present in Ra 9006 (Mt. Athos, Βατοπεδίου 242), a less complete manuscript (preserved only for Psalms 3–8 and 13–105) which probably served as the antigraph of the Ohrid manuscript. At the end, after the lemma text of Ps. 149:5a, Theodoret's commentary is replaced with that of Euthymius Zigabenus, possibly reflecting a mutilation in the antigraph. This part of the commentary is also incomplete, lacking at least one page with the lemma text and commentary on Ps. 150:6. The manuscript was rebound in the 14th or 15th century (according to Mošin) using parts of an early manuscript of John Skylitzes' Synopsis historiarum, one leaf of which is preserved as a flyleaf (counted pp. 581–582). The first flyleaf is missing, as is the first page of the Psalms Commentary (with the beginning of Theodoret's Protheoria in Psalmos). Also missing are two leaves after p. 235 and after p. 507. Collation: Die editio critica maior des griechischen Psalters Text-type: L.
